How to Import Products to Your Store
A step-by-step guide to importing products from suppliers into your Shopify, Amazon, or TikTok Shop store using the DS-Mate import wizard.
1Starting a Product Import
Navigate to Find Products from the sidebar and search for products by keyword, URL, or product ID from supported suppliers like AliExpress. When you find a product you want to sell, click the 'Import' button to begin. You will be prompted to select your target sales channel (Shopify, Amazon, or TikTok Shop) and choose which of your connected stores to import to.
2The Import Wizard
The import wizard has multiple tabs you can complete in any order. Basic Info lets you customize the product title, description, status, product type, collections, and tags. The Images tab allows you to drag and reorder product images. The Variants tab shows all supplier variants where you can select which ones to import and set your pricing markup. For Amazon imports, an additional Attributes tab provides dynamic fields specific to your product category.
3Setting Your Pricing
The cost summary sidebar displays your pricing in real-time as you configure the import. You can set a default markup percentage (minimum 5%) that applies to all variants. The sidebar shows the supplier price range, shipping cost, calculated markup amount, your selling price, and estimated profit per item — all updated automatically as you adjust settings.
4Amazon-Specific Requirements
When importing to Amazon, you must select a product type and fill in required category-specific attributes. DS-Mate auto-fills many fields with confidence indicators (green for high confidence, orange for low). You can opt into brand and GTIN exemptions if applicable. Use the 'Check Listing' button to validate your listing against Amazon's requirements before importing.
5Completing the Import
Once you are satisfied with your product configuration, click 'Import Product'. DS-Mate processes the import for each selected store and shows you the result. For Amazon imports, the listing enters a review process and you can track its status on the Import Requests page. For Shopify imports, the product typically appears in your store within seconds.
