Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

4 min read

Add an extra layer of security to your DS-Mate account with two-factor authentication using an authenticator app.

1Why Enable 2FA

Two-factor authentication adds a second verification step when you sign in, making your account significantly more secure. Even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without the time-based code from your authenticator app.

2Setting Up 2FA

Navigate to Settings and open the Security tab. Click 'Enable 2FA' to begin the three-step setup process. Step 1: Enter your current password to verify your identity. Step 2: A QR code is displayed on screen — scan it with your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator). If you cannot scan the QR code, you can manually enter the secret key shown below it.

3Completing Verification

After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code in the verification field and click 'Verify'. Once confirmed, 2FA is enabled on your account and you will be asked for an authenticator code each time you sign in.

4Disabling 2FA

If you need to disable two-factor authentication, go to Settings, open the Security tab, and click 'Disable 2FA'. You will be prompted to enter your password for confirmation. Once disabled, you will only need your email and password to sign in.
